Happy birthday to me! I didn't do too much this year for my birthday. It was nice to not be at school for a change, but we didn't do too much. We went bowling in the morning and had a leisurely walk around the park  in the afternoon where I had a bit of a play with my new lens. The robins seem to be particularly firendly both in the park and back at home, happily posing for a few photos. To top the day off, I blew out some candles on a birthday brownie.

Another year older, possibly a little wiser. 

This is just a quick one to wish Dani a very Happy Birthday. We went to the zoo again this year and are now members so we'll be able to go a lot more!

We got off to an early start today, with bowling booked for 9.50. After our little jaunt to the bowling alley earlier this week, we got a 50% off voucher, so thought it would make a nice birthday activity. We had 3 games booked, although managed to score a cheeky forth after the bowling machine gave us another game. After bowling we headed to John Lewis for a cream tea, dropping in at the Lego shop to pick up a little set (mini Ferrari F40). Back home I opened my cards and presents which included a new watch, a Lego voucher and some Lego, and then made eggs Benedict for a late lunch. I spent some of the remaining day having some drinks, building some Lego and after a nice dinner, blew out the candles on a homemade lemon meringue pie! Happy bithday to me!

Happy Birthday Danica!

Today we went to ZSL Whipsnade, which has become something of an annual pilgramage to celebrate Dani's birthday. We had realy nice weather and all of the animals were out to play. I took lots of photos, so do have a look through and let us know what you think!

Just a quick one to wish Danica a very happy birthday. It's results day today, so I think the celebrations will be carrying on well in to tomorrow!

We headed out to the Steam Rally this morning to see some of the old cars and steam engines. It has been coming for years now and we've never been but have watched the engines trundling to and from as it's held in the fields nearby. It was much bigger than expected and there's lots to see - so definitely worth a visit if you get a chance.

The weather has finally picked up a bit - just in time to wish you a very happy birthday! 

Happy birthday mum! I hope you enjoyed your birthday weekend and bowling. It was great to see you and hope you enjoy your week at the seaside! Here's one from last year with your mates in NYC!

As seems to be the tradition for the last few years, it's back to school just in time for my birthday. It's technically not the first day back as yesterday was a training day, but the first day back with students nonetheless. So the cards and presents waited until the end of the day, but we'll find sometime to celebrate properly at the weekend which is now one day closer.

Christmas and New Year were good and it was great to catch up with family and spend some time relaxing. We managed to get out ice skating twice - in Nottingham, between Christmas and New Year, and outside the Natural History museum on New Year's Day. Skating outside the museum was very picturesque with all the surrounding trees lit up with sparkling white lights. Sadly, no pictures though as I was working hard not to fall over. We had a lot of fun but as always it was over too soon.

Happy birthday Danica!

So today is Danica's birthday and she decided she wanted to go to the zoo. Having visited London zoo a few years ago we were left a little unimpressed so we decided to go to ZSL Whipsnade instead. Dani's parents met us there and we had a fantastic day with a real highlight being the elephants on parade (with the elephants taken for a walk holding on to each other using their trunks and tails around the zoo - amazing!)

Happy birthday, Dad! 65 today! Looking forward to celebrating with you! xx

This is just a quick note to wish mum a very happy 60th birthday. We're sorry we can't be there to spend the day with you but hope you enjoyed last weekend and have a great time at the seaside

I thought I'd write something here rather than through the usual social media outlets to wish my sister Lorna a happy birthday. I even managed to get a birthday card there on time this year which is something of a result! I Hope you've had a great day!

Ok now, we've established we're still up and running, I will write a little bit more. As you have probably gathered from the heading it is my birthday today, and like many birthdays gone by, I am at school. Sadly this year it has not snowed so there has been no early home time, further there's an aweful lot of marking and an essay to write so I think the celebrations will be on hold for a little longer.

Whilst I'm taking the opportunity to write a bit, I should probably update you all with a little news. 2010 was a pretty big year for us as we bought our first house, in Leeds. Its a 3-bed semi close to Roundhay Park with a conservatory and everything! Not being ones to sit on our hands it didn't take us very long to start chopping down trees and remodelling the inside. I think I have probably bored friends and co-workers alike with my moaning about just how long the hall-stairs and landing has taken (and we still have to touch up the paintwork and fit the skirting boards, replace the carpet . . . need I go on).

I'll just briefly fast forward to Christmas. This year we had my mum and sister around and Dani's parents and brother. I think we all had a lot of fun and probably far too much to eat. We had central heating problems but managed to get that sorted just after Christmas so everything is back to normal again. We still have to take down the decorations, but that will probably wait now until the weekend.

I think I might just end it there for now. If you've read this far, well done, I think I just rambled for two paragraphs! Cheerio for now
