And before you know it another week goes by
Thursday, September 28, 2006
Not sure where the week went really, last weekend came and went very quickly although we managed to cram a decent amount in. Dani and I had an epic cleaning session on Saturday which included a 3 hour ironing marathon (a combination of me being incredibly slow and a huge pile of washing). We then spent Sunday with Dani's parents at Newstead Abbey which is pretty close by. The weather came out nice despite the rain in the morning and we had a really good day. We hosted our first dinner party in the new flat last night which was cool - we had homemade burger and chips from Jamie Olivers - Jamies Dinners book. They turned out really nice (which is good because we made way too many and have six left to cook).
Tomorow is pay day - I can't wait - its been an expensive month and we're spending the weekend at Mablethorpe with my mum so fingers crossed the weather holds out. So maybe I'll get round to some updates Sunday??

What happened to last month?
Friday, September 22, 2006
Wow time flies when you're having fun. I can't believe it but Dani and I are in our new place and have been for the last 3 weeks! Its all gone so quick and we still have bags of things floating about that need unpacking. The flat is great - bigger than I remember and most importantly plenty of storage for all our stuff! We're being extra careful with gas and electric to try and avoid any nasty suprises with the bills and we've gone back to trusty dial up internet for the time being.
Aside from all the moving I had more car problems this month - it failed its MOT - third year running! The original garage came up with an estimate of £407 for the work and refused a free re-test unless they did the work (Obviously they neglected to mention that point when I asked them about a retest in the first place). I was beginning to think it was the end of the road for him but wasn't quite ready to give it up - so I got some other quotes and ended up getting the work done and a retest for £218 so I'm feeling much better about it!
Hopefully I'll get some more pictures uploaded soon - updates have been a bit sparse really. Theres some pictures from a short break in Norfolk that we were on just before moving in and a couple of pictures of Dani's bound dissertation that she handed in this month! All in all its been a very busy few weeks . . the updates on on my to do list so watch this space.
